Art in Motion
Shirish Villaseñor

Shirish Villaseñor is a surrealist painter and multi-disciplinary artist and uses sculpture, fiber arts, wood, metal, epoxy, plexiglass, photography and costume design to create artwork that redefines beauty. Shirish started creating art as a way to step through the fear of dark spaces, events, memories and situations and into a world of oddity and curiosity that encompasseds everyday bravery.
Shirish paints big; she is a Chicano Park muralist essential to the 2023-2024 Chicano Park Mural Restoration Project working on seven different pillars spanning from 30 feet to 70 feet high. As a CREATE Chula Vista art grant recipient, Shirish has a multi-dimensional approach working with unconventional materials in site specific murals including the use of polytab, metal and fiberglass. Her mural work has been featured in several public locations including Chula Vista’s Third Avenue La Bella Pizza Garden restaurant and the Secret Stairs of Valencia in collaboration with Blue Shield. Shirish is part of the Downtown Partnership Committee in charge of activating spaces areas for placemaking and led the Bay to Park Paseo ground zero project, in collaboration with 2023-2024 World Design Capital San Diego/Tijuana initiative and Hilton hotels and Blue Energy.
